Model 04412А

The mold hardness tester, model 04412A, for wet molds and cores, is intended for surface hardness determination of wet molds and cores as well as molding sand flow characteristics according to GOST 23409.17-78 at mold and core workshops and proximate analysis laboratories, workshops and factory labs.

Component parts and operation principle of the unit

This unit consists of a housing which is designed to assemble all parts. The indenter, and then the bearing surface of the bush is brought into contact with the tested surface of the mold or a core. In this case, the indenter moves relative to the housing by a quantity determined by the surface hardness. Using a lever, movement of the indenter is transmitted to the indicator rod, as a result of which the arrow rotates. After removing the hardness tester from the test surface, the spring returns the indenter to its initial position, while the hardness tester fixes the obtained hardness value. Movement of the indenter by 5 mm corresponds to rotation of the arrow by 360˚. The case of the hardness tester is closed by a cover from above. The readings can be reseted by pressing the reset button on the indicator. Before starting the measurement, if it is necessary to align the arrow with the zero mark on the scale, turn the upper ring of the indicator.
