Sand regeneration and cooling unit UR 6

It is intended for regeneration of waste molding and rod cold-hardening (self-hardening) mixture for further use in foundry production. The machine can be used in foundry workshops of individual, small-scale and serial production.

  • The attrition machine model UR 6.1 is designed for grinding the waste molding and rod cold-hardening (self-hardening) mixture and supplying it to the cooling and dust removal unit UR 6.2
  • The cooling and dust removal unit model UR6.2 is designed to cool the waste molding and rod cold-hardening (self-hardening) mixture crushed on the attrition machine to the required particle size, and to remove dust for further use of the mixture in the production of castings.

Principle of operation of the unit

The mold is fed to the upper knockout grating of the attrition machine UR6.1, where, due to the vibration generated by two electromechanical vibrators, the dust separates from the casting and preliminarily crushes it. The mesh size of the upper grating is 150×150 mm.
Then, the mixture — passing through medium gratings with transverse grooves with a width of 19 mm and a lower grating with longitudinal slots 1.5 mm wide — is ground to the required dimensions and fed to the vibrating conveyor into the receiving window of the cooling and dust removal unit UR6.2. The housing of the machine is divided by partitions into a number of sections. By feeding compressed air into the bubble tubes, a pseudo-liquid (“boiling”) layer of sand is created, which flows from the first inlet section to the cooling section and further to the sand outlet section. When the sand moves due to the friction of the particles against one another, the final grinding of the mixture takes place.
From the outlet section of the sand, the mixture flows by gravity into the pneumatic chamber pump of the UR6.3 unit and then through the pipe to the receiving bunker.
The level of sand in the outlet section of the cooling unit, as well as in the pneumatic chamber pump and bunker is controlled by sensors. At all stages of the mixture, connection of the dust removal system is available

The operating mode of the unit is automatic.
